Tips
.Note how to operate the air dispenser beforehand. Typically, the end of the hose has a tube that you put on to the valve stem, and a handle/switch that you must depress to fill air. If you release the handle, a gauge pops at its fixed end to show the pressure, while at the same time air starts to get released from the tire. You want to keep the handle pressed most of the time, while periodically releasing it to check if the target pressure is reached.

.The correct pressure for each tire should be listed on a sticker on the inside of your doorpost. If you can’t find it there, it will definitely be in the owner’s manual, usually towards the back.

.Only check your tire pressure when your tires are cold. If you’ve driven more than a mile or two, your readings will be inaccurate.

.On average, tires will lose about a pound of air every month, so be sure to check your tire pressure at least once a month.

.Something to note if this is your first time. The air dispenser typically operates for a short time (about 3 minutes). So, remove the valve stem caps in advance, and park your car in parallel to the curb close to the dispenser to save time.
